Catawba Valley Muscle Car Show, Saturday, June 8 --- The Catawba Valley Muscle Car Show will be held Saturday, June 8 at 2950 NC Highway 127, Hickory, NC from 5-9 p.m. in the parking lot (this is the Mountain View area). This is a free cruise-in with everyone welcome to attend and showcase their vehicles, motorcycles, etc. Pets are welcome on a leash. Concession booths will be available including the Long View Lions Club promoting sight conservation. For more information, please contact Teri (828)-308-9985. 

Denver Nuggets Travel Basketball Camps, June 10-13, 24-27
--- Chip Ashley, Director of the Denver Nuggets Travel Basketball teams, announces the dates for the 24th annual Basketball Camps at East Lincoln High School. Camp dates are June 10-13 and June 24-27, both camps are for boys and girls rising 2nd-10th grade and will be held at East Lincoln High School. Coach Ashley plans to present a camp like ones that he has instructed at Erskine College, Gardner-Webb, High Point, and Winthrop Universities.  “I am excited about the basketball camps at East Lincoln High School.  The objectives of the camp are quite simple: I want campers to have fun and to improve their fundamental skills in all aspects of basketball." CAMP DATES: JUNE 10-13 (7th-10th Graders June 10-12 6-9 p.m., June 13 8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.; 2nd-6th Graders June 10-12 3-6 p.m., June 13 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.); JUNE 24-27 (7th-10th Grade 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m., 2nd-6th Grade 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.). CAMP COSTS: Preregister $65, Day of Camp $75; If you would like to come to multiple camps these are the costs if you preregister: 2 weeks of camp - $120. Lincolnton Wolves Football Fundraiser (Ongoing) --- A Teamworks Page has been set up for the Lincolnton Wolves Football team to raise money for new helmets, shoulder pads, girdles, cleats, jerseys/uniforms and weight room equipment plus money to pay for the team’s pre-game meal. Monies raised will provide the best possible experience for our players. Each season, we budget for team travel, practice equipment, uniforms, and much more. By meeting our financial goal, we will continue to develop as players and as a team. Your contribution towards this fundraiser will make the difference in our success. VW Cruise-In, Saturday, June 8, July 13, August 10, September 14, October 12 --- A Volkswagen (VW) Cruise-In will be held the second Saturday of each month from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. beginning in May and running through October. The event will be held in the parking lot of Caputos Pizza Company, 800 S. Mountain St., Cherryville, NC 28021.

East Lincoln Summer Baseball Camp, June 17-20 --- A Baseball Camp, hosted by the East Lincoln Mustangs, will be held June 17-20. The camp will be divided into four age groups, 6-7, 8-9, 10-12, 13 and up.  The camps goals under the direction of head baseball coach Chris Matile are to help all campers learn the fundamentals of the game and improve their overall playing abilities while most importantly, having fun.  In addition to Coach Matile, campers will be instructed by assistant coaches and current Mustang players.  All participants should wear baseball pants, a t-shirt and a hat, and should bring their glove, a water bottle, sunscreen and tennis shoes (for inclement weather).  Catchers need to bring their own gear.  Campers should also bring a snack.  The camp will take place at the East Lincoln High School baseball field, and the cost is $90.  The camp will run each day from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.  For more information, contact Chris Matile at East Lincoln High School.

Volleyball Camp With Charlene Johnson Whitted, July 15-16 --- Charlene Johnson Whitted, former Olympic Setter from the 2000 Summer games is coming to Combine Academy to hold a volleyball camp for players 8th-12th grade. Space is limited, registration is required (first come, first serve basis, fees non-refundable). The camp will be held July 15-16 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Combine Academy,270 Car Farm Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092. ELHS Lady Mustangs Basketball Camp, July 22-25 --- The East Lincoln High School girls basketball team will host their annual summer camp July 22-25 directed by East Lincoln head coach Jason Otey at East Lincoln High School, 6471 NC-73, Denver, NC 28037.  The camp will run from 9 a.m. until noon each day, and is open to all rising 4th through 9th graders and will focus on individual skill work, development and improvement of fundamentals and in-game strategy and creating basketball IQ.  The cost of the camp is $60 for pre-registering and $70 the day of the camp.  Families with multiple participants will pay $50 each.  Each camper will receive a t-shirt and have an opportunity to work with the high school coaches and players.  For registration or information contact Coach Otey by email at jotey@lincoln.k12.nc.us.
