Lincoln Charter made the long trip to the mountains again  and played at Cherokee Saturday evening (Dec. 14th). According to Athletic Director Daniel Schmitz, the games with Cherokee and the trip are as important as a cultural learning experience as much as sporting events. The Eagles boys team is now 7-0 after beating the Braves 94-81. Other Southern Piedmont 1A Conference leaders are Cherryville 7-1 and Bessemer City 6-1 overall, but so far none of them have played no a game that counts in the conference standings.

The Lincoln Charter girls are now 6-2 after losing Saturday evening to Cherokee 68-61 despite having three players in double figures: Felicity Fields with 19 points, Lauren Horton with 18, and Natalie Hamlen with 11.  The two teams were even going into the final period when Cherokee outscored LCS by seven to take the victory. Lincoln Charter's first conference games will be Thursday (Dec. 19th) at Bessemer City.

In games played Friday (Dec. 13th) the Cherryville boys beat West Lincoln 68-44. Lane Harrill led the Ironmen with 24 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists; LavonteHughes scored 15 points and had 7 assists; and Dylan Harden had 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals. For the Rebels, Daniel Wesson had 11 points. Cherryville will host Pinnacle Academy on Tuesday (Dec. 17th). No report was provided on the girls game. West Lincoln will play at North Lincoln next Friday (Dec. 20th).

Lincolnton won a pair of games from South Iredell. The girls
won 60-48 and the boys 75-68. Lincolnton's next games will be at Newton-Conover next Friday (Dec. 20th).

Bandys won a pair of games from Fred T. Foard. The girls won by a 56-49 score and the boys 63-50. The Trojans teams will play at Maiden in the next game for the Blue Devils on Thursday (Dec. 19th).

East Lincoln has the week off until next Friday when the Mustangs teams host Lake Norman Charter.

Next Friday's games will be the first South Fork Conference games of the season. So far, the East Lincoln boys have the best overall record at 5-1, Newton-Conover is 5-2, North Lincoln 3-2. The North Lincoln girls are 5-0, the Newton-Conover girls are 5-1, Bandys is 4-2.
