Congratulations to West Lincoln High School for winning the South Fork Conference Wrestling Championship--again.  Last year, West won the conference tournament championship.  This year, no Conference Championship Tournament was held.
East Lincoln, Lincolnton, & Newton-Conover finished tied for second.  A draw was held  and the order of finish left Lincolnton in 2nd place, then East, then Newton-Conover.  The full finishing order was:
1.West Lincoln
2. Lincolnton
3. East Lincoln
4. Newton-Conover
5. Maiden
6. North Lincoln
7. Bandys

Next, area teams will compete in the regional tournaments.  West Lincoln, Lincolnton, Maiden, and Newton-Conover will compete in the West Regional Tournament at Wilkes Central High School in Wilkesboro.  East Lincoln, North Lincoln & Bandys will compete in the Midwest Regional in Lexington.  The regionals will be held Valentine's week (Feb. 14-15).

The NCHSAA 2A State Tournament will be held at the Greensboro Coliseum February 20-22.

West Lincoln won the State 2A Dual Team Championship in 2000, 2015, 2018 and last year.  In going for a 'three-peat' this year, one of their toughest competitors may be from just up the road, Fred T. Foard.  The Tigers wrestlers are undefeated going into the Northwestern Foothills 2A Conference Tournament this Saturday in Lenoir.
