Heavner & Godfrey Play Saturday

Two West Lincoln tennis players will play in the NCHSAA 2A semifinals Saturday morning in Cary.

Brogan Heavner & Etta Godfrey of West Lincoln won their first round match over Kaylee Tucker & Venancia Miller of Greene Central 6-0, 6-3.

In their quarterfinals match, they also won in straight sets 6-0, 6-4 over Kara Comer & Taylor Comer of Wheatmore.

In their semi-finals match, they'll take on Lillie Rusher & Meredith Burton of Salisbury.

[UPDATE: Saturday June 26th--Lillie Rusher & Meredith Burton (Salisbury) def. Brogan Heavner & Etta Godfrey (West Lincoln) 6-2, 6-2 in the semi-finals.]

Olivia Prevost & Olivia Franco from East Lincoln won their first round match, but lost in the quarterfinals 6-7 (7-4), 6-4, 6-3 to Chloe Bethea & Marlie Stephenson of Oak Grove.

No Lincoln County players were involved in the singles competition, but Alexa Allison of Newton-Conover has been dominant in both her matches, winning both the round one and quarterfinals 6-0, 6-0 over her opponents.
