Post 100 Wins Again

Wayne Howard

It was a clean sweep for Cherryville Post 100. Playing at Independence High School, the Cherryville team won Friday night 9-0 to take a 3-0 win in the best of five Area IV semifinal series. Noah Huss from West Lincoln got the win, pitching six innings and allowing just three hits while striking out five--and he didn't walk a single batter! 2020 Cherryville High grad Noah Ingle had three hits and two rbi's and Cody Mosteller from Burns had two hits and three rbi's.

Next up for Post 100 is the Area IV championship against Rutherford County, who beat the Queen City team 9-8 by scoring eight runs in the last two innings. That best of three series will begin Wednesday evening (July 21st) at Fraley Field.

UPDATE: the Cherryville Jr. Legion team beat Burns 3-2 in 9 innings Saturday and advances to the state junior tournament in High Point.
