Post 100 Juniors Win--Play for Championship Monday

The Cherryville Post 100 junior team will play Matthews Post 235 for the state American Legion Baseball Junior Championship at 2 PM Monday (July 26th) at Finch Field in Thomasville. Post 100 scored 5 times in the top of the 7th inning to win Sunday's semi-final game 10-4 over Carson Post 342. They'll play Matthews Post 235, who beat the host High Point-Thomasville Post 41 team 6-3 in their semi-final game. Those who choose can listen to the Monday game on WCSL Radio (1590AM, 90.3FM) or watch it on the HiTomsBaseball FB page at

The American Legion state senior tournament begins Wednesday at Fraley Field in Cherryville. It's a 'pool play' tournament. Post 100, both the host team and Area IV champion, will be in the Stars Group along with Rowan County Post 342, Port City Post 545 and Wayne County Post 11. The Stripes Group will include Rutherford County Post 423, Kannapolis Post 115, Wilmington Post 10 and Fuquay Varina Post 116.
