The Lincolnton soccer team improved to 2-0 with a win over North Lincoln on Thursday. The game was back and forth in the first half until the 25th minute when sophomore Jarett Trejo lined up a 30-yard free kick from about 10 yards off the left sideline; placing it beautifully over everyone including the outstreched Knights goalkeeper. The kick dropped with a surgeon's precision into the bottom corner of the far post; snapping the side netting.
After that the game remained 1-0 until the 62nd minute when the Wolves struck again as sophomore Alvaro Rodriguez drove from mid-field down the right touchline before sending a blistering cross that connected with the head of senior Silbestre Martinez to make it 2-0.
With 8 minutes to go, LHS struck one final time when sophomore Aaron Lail and freshman Jesus "Chewy" Castillo-Ortega worked down the left sideline. The teamwork ended with the freshman in the box one on one with the North goalkeeper. He placed his shot near the post and the goal gave LHS a 3-0 win.
