Despite being the ONLY unbeaten 2A team in the western region and one of only two undefeated 2A teams in the state, the Lincolnton Wolves did not get the top seed in the west for the NCHSAA soccer playoffs. Instead, that honor went to Hendersonville (17-1-1). Lincolnton (16-0-3) was seeded #2.
The Wolves will begin the playoffs Monday (Nov. 1st) at home against #31 seed Wilkes Central (7-10-1). Hendersonville will host #32 seed East Gaston (7-13-0).
The #4 seed in the west went to Shelby (17-1-2). The Golden Lions will host #29 seed Burns (9-6-1) in the first round.
Lincoln Charter (8-11-1), seeded 23rd, will play at J.M. Robinson in the first round.
13th seed Newton-Conover will host 20th seed McMichael and Bandys, seeded #22, will play at Monroe in the first round.
In the 3A playoffs, East Lincoln (11-8-2) was seeded #16 and will host #17 seed Smoky Mountain (13-6-2) in the first round. North Lincoln (9-12-0), seeded #29, will play at #4 seed Asheboro (14-1-3). Hickory (17-3-1) got the #3 seed and will host #30 Ben L. Smith. Fred T. Foard (12-6-0) was seeded #15 and will play at home against Lake Norman Charter. The #2 seed in the west went to Stuart Cramer (19-2-1). The Storm will host Freedom in the first round. #11 seed Forestview (14-6-1) will host High Point Central. North Iredell, seeded #13, will host #20 seed Ashbrook. #14 seed South Point will host #19 seed St. Stephens.
In the 1A playoffs, #31 seed Cherryville 92-14-1) will plya at NC Leadership Academy. #5 see Highland Tech (11-5-0) will host #28 seed Sugar Creek. #30 seed Bessemer City will play at #3 Mount Airy. #22 seed Mtn. Island Charter will play at #11 seed Carver. #18 seed Thomas Jefferson will play at #15 seed Union Academy.
The second round matches will be played Thursday (Nov. 4th) and 3rd round on Monday Nov. 8th.
