Two of the quarterfinal playoff games in boys soccer were moved up to Wednesday because of the likelihood of rain Thursday afternoon. One of those was the East Lincoln @ Concord game. The Spiders eliminated the Mustangs from the playoffs just as they had the North Lincoln Knights in the third round. The final was a 4-0 win for Concord, which sends them to the western region semifinals Tuesday (Nov. 16th) at Hickory.
The Red Tornadoes game with Central Academy from Monroe was also moved up to Wednesday, and won by Hickory 2-0, their 21st win of the season.
In 2A playoff action, Thursday's schedule includes the #2 seeded Lincolnton Wolves hosting #3 seed Salisbury. The winner will play the winner between #4 seed Shelby and 16th seeded Community School of Davidson. That game will be played in Shelby. The semifinals game with have Thursday's winners matching up on Tuesday (Nov. 16th) for the western region title and a chance at a state championship next weekend.
