Zach Zagorski, the captain of the LHS soccer team, a center back 'sweeper' who helped the team limit opponents to just 12 goals for the season in which LHS compiled a 20-1-3 record, was named All-State by the NCSCA.

Lincolnton High School soccer fans who were disappointed when the Catawba Valley Conference All-Conference, players and coaches of the year were announced last week, may be a bit happier this week. The North Carolina Soccer Coaches Association has announced its choices for All-State and All-Region.
Lincolnton is well represented on the All-Region selections for region 11. The Wolves had six All-Region players: seniors Zack Zagorski, Edwin Olivia, Zander Harrison and Kevin Calvo; sophomore Aaron Lail, and freshman Jesus Tellez-Blanco. Zagorski, a center back for LHS, was named to the 2A All-State team.
LHS Coach Brad Bagan was named Coach of the Year for the region and assistant Trent Teague was chosen Asst. Coach of the Year.
"Chuy" Tellez-Blanco was one of three freshmen named to the All-Region selections; the other two were from West Caldwell.
The All-Region choices by the Coaches Association were:
Jack Berkowitz, junior forward, Shelby
Carter Bridges, senior mid-fielder, Shelby
[Berkowitz does most of the kicking for the Shelby football (American style) team, Bridges also kicks for them occasionally.
Kevin Calvo- senior center back, Lincolnton
Jeremy Castillon, freshman defender, West Caldwell Jayco Castro, freshman midfielder, West Caldwell
