Soccer Scores/Schedule

Wayne Howard
Reporter

Lincolnton's girls soccer team hasn't been quite as phenomenal as the boys team last Fall. The Wolves finished with a 20-1-3 record; their only loss was to eventual 2A champion Shelby.

The LHS girls are 7-5 overall, but they're 5-1 in the Catawba Valley Conference, tops in the league ahead of Newton-Conover (4-1-1) and Bandys (3-1-1).

The LHS girls will take on West Lincoln (1-4 in the conference, 6-5 overall not including a Monday game) at 5:30 this Tuesday afternoon (April 12th) at West Lincoln. West played at Cherryville Monday, but no score has been reported.
In other CVAC games, Maiden (7-3, 4-2 in the conference) will
host Newton-Conover in a 6 PM game. Bandys will visit winless Bunker Hill (5 PM).

The East Lincoln girls maintained their share of the top spot in the Western Foothills Conference with a 7-0 win at West Iredell Monday. The Mustangs scored six of those goals in the first half. East is now 6-0 in the league, 9-2 overall, and tied with Hickory for the top spot in the WFAC.

East will host Fred T. Foard on Thursday (6 PM). The Tigers will host Statesville at 6 PM Tuesday.

We did not receive a report on the North Lincoln at North Iredell game Monday. The Knights will play at St. Stephens Thursday (5:30 PM).

Cherryville, now 0-12, will try again for a first win at home against Highland Tech at 6 PM Tuesday.

After losing to Community School of Davidson 6-3 Friday, the Lincoln Charter girls are now 5-2-2 for the season. They don't play again until next Monday (April 25th) when they'll play at Pine Lake Prep.
