Like baseball teams, some of the area softball teams were involved in tournament play during Spring Break.

North Lincoln played in the Cherryville Easter Tournament and beat the host team 11-1 and Burns 9-8 on Tuesday (April 19th), then downed Kings Mtn. 11-4 on Wednesday (April 20th).
The wins give the Knights a 15-6 overall record. As they return to conference play Tuesday (April 26th) hosting Fred T. Foard, they're in second place in the Western Foothills Conference with a 9-2 mark. Foard is in third place in the league, tied with St. Stephens at 8-3. In their second game in the coming week, North will host West Iredell Friday.

East Lincoln continues atop the WFAC with an unblemished record of 16-0 (11-0 in the conference). The Mustangs play at St. Stephens on Tuesday, then host North Iredell on Friday.

East and North play at North Lincoln in the final regular season game next Monday (May 2nd).

West Lincoln won two games on Tuesday in that Cherryville tournament: 15-3 over Kings Mtn. and 14-5 over North Gaston; but fell to Burns 6-5 in 9 innings on Wednesday. The Rebels host East Burke on Tuesday (April 26th); then play at Lincolnton on Friday.

The LHS softball team went 1-2 in tournament play: winning over South Point on Monday 11-0, then falling to Forestview 4-2 on Tuesday and to East Gaston 18-7 on Wednesday. They'll play at Maiden Tuesday (April 26th), then host Newton-Conover in a doubleheader Wednesday before hosting West Lincoln on Friday.

Maiden split games Tuesday (April 19th) in a tournament at Hibriten, losing to the home team 4-3 after beating Hickory 10-0. After playing at home against Lincolnton Tuesday (April 26th), the Blue Devils will host Lincoln Charter Thursday, then play at Newton-Conover Friday.

Lincoln Charter will play at Lake Norman Charter Monday, at Myers Park Wednesday, then at Maiden Thursday.

Cherryville was 1-2 in the Easter tournament they hosted. They lost to North Lincoln 11-1, then beat North Gaston 13-9 on Tuesday; they lost to Kings Mtn. 20-7 on Wednesday. Cherryville plays at Bessemer City Tuesday, then hosts a doubleheader with East Gaston on Thursday.
