SOCCER

The game was tied one-all at the half, but Josh Olivera made the winning goal in the second half as West Lincoln evened its record at 2-2 with a 2-1 win over Bessemer City on Thursday (Aug. 25th). Mark Soto-Aguilar had 25 steals for the Rebels. West will host Cherryville on Monday (Aug. 29th), then visit North Gaston on Wednesday.

Lincolnton lost its Thursday game at St. Stephens 5-0. The Wolves will host Lincoln Charter on Monday. Lincoln Charter will play Friday night (8 PM) at Wallace-Rose Hill in southeastern North Carolina.

TENNIS

North Lincoln is now 4-0 after an 8-1 win at Highland Tech Thursday. The home team managed only one doubles win. Emma Carver, Caitlin Simcox, Natalie Gore, Lulu King, Rachel Fink, and Ella Wulfhorst of North Lincoln won singles matches. Gore & King and Carver & Simcox won in doubles. North will host Lincolnton next Tuesday (Aug. 30th).

East Lincoln is also 4-0 after beating Mooresville 6-3 on Thursday. Maddie Wilkens, Karsyn Sink, and Amelia Barrineau didn't lose a game in their 8-0 sets. Wilkens received player of the match honors. Katherine Brown, Molly McGuirk, and Sophie Meyers also won in singles. Mooresville took all three doubles matches.

Fred T. Foard beat Hibriten Thursday 5-5.

Lincoln Charter will host Christ the King at 3 PM Friday (Aug. 26th). The Eagles are 1-0 after a 9-0 win at Mtn. Island Charter on Wednesday.

VOLLEYBALL

Cherryville improved to 5-0 with a 3-0 win (25-19, 25-18, 25-23) over Shelby on Thursday. North Lincoln played at Lake Norman Charter on Thursday but no score was reported.
