SOCCER

Cherryville scored six first half goals en route to their third win without a loss in beating West Lincoln Monday 8-1. They'll have a rematch with Maiden at home on Wednesday (8/31). The Ironmen beat the Blue Devils 5-2 in their first meeting last week.

Maiden got its second victory of the season 6-0 at Bessemer City Monday.

West Lincoln, now 2-3, will play at North Gaston Wednesday.  Although they lost Monday, West had good performances from Ford Wiley with  22 steals, Joel Sellers and Mark Aguilar with 20 steals each.  Our thanks to Coach Cheatham for the report.  It's tough to do when your team loses.  Thanks again!

Bandys won its fourth game without a loss as the Trojans won at Burns 9-1 Monday. Bandys will host Hickory's Challenger High School on Wednesday.

East Lincoln will host South Point Wednesday (6 PM). The Mustangs are 2-2-1 so far. North Lincoln will visit Lincolnton Wednesday (6:30 PM). The Knights are 3-1.

Lincolnton hosted Lincoln Charter Monday; we didn't get a report until after this article was posted.  See our Wednesday (Aug. 31st) article for detais on the match, which ended in a 4-4 tie.  Lincoln Charter will host Newton-Conover Wednesday (6 PM).

Fred T. Foard beat Patton Monday 3-2. The Tigers, now 2-2-1, don't play again until the day after Labor Day.

TENNIS

Lincoln Charter is now 3-0 after a 9-0 win over Community School of Davidson Monday. Ansley Johnson, Emma Kennedy, Jenny Worthington, Kate Lesniak, Natalie Barger, and Emmy Johnson won singles matches; Kennedy & Lesniak, Barger and Rowan Milligan, and Ella Cannon and Gabby McKinney were victorious in doubles.

The Eagles beat Christ the King Catholic School Friday 7-2 and Mtn. Island Charter 9-0 last Wednesday for their first two wins.
They'll host Pine Lake Prep Wednesday (3 PM).

North Lincoln takes a 4-0 record to a Tuesday (8/30, 4 PM) home match against Lincolnton (1-2). Lincolnton got its first win last Thursday 5-4 at Cherryville. Cherryville, now 2-3, will play at North Gaston Tuesday (4 PM).

East Lincoln is also 4-0 so far. The Mustangs host Newton-Conover Tuesday (4 PM).

West Lincoln (2-1) will host South Point Tuesday (4 PM). The Rebels will play at Highland Tech Wednesday and host Patton on Thursday.

Fred T. Foard, 3-2 after a 5-4 win over Hibriten last Thursday, will play at Bunker Hill Tuesday (4 PM). Maiden plays at South Irdell on Thursday (4 PM).

VOLLEYBALL

North Lincoln lost 3-0 at St. Stephens Monday (25-17, 25-16, 25-16). They'll host South Point Tuesday (6 PM). North is now 3-3.

East Lincoln lost at Fred T. Foard 3-0 Monday (25-11, 25-15, 25-21). They'll visit St. Stephens Wednesday (6 PM).

With the win, Foard improves to 4-0. They'll visit North Lincoln Wednesday (6 PM).

West Lincoln lost to Chase 3-2 Monday. The Rebels will play at Bandys Tuesday (5:30 PM). The Rebels are 1-4; the Trojans are 1-3.

Lincolnton (1-4) will host Bunker Hill Tuesday (5 PM). Maiden (2-4) will host East Burke (5:30 PM).

Lincoln Charter played in a tournament Saturday and lost to St. Stephens before beating Newton-Conover. The Knights will visit Davidson Day Tuesday (5 PM).

GOLF

After finishing second in a five-team 9-hole match at Lincoln Country Club last Tuesday (8/23), the West Lincoln girls were beaten Thursday (8'25) at the Rocky River Golf Club by Hickory Ridge. In the Tuesday event, Newton-Conover was the winner. Reese Coltrane matched the Red Devils' Sondra Uon for the best round, taking 38 strokes. Melony Hoffman finished fifth with a 49. At Rocky River, Hoffman shot a 47 and Coltrane a 48. One of the Hickory Ridge golfers broke par with a 35; they also took second place with a 40. On Wednesday (3 PM), the Rebels will participate in the Lady Warrior Invitationa at the River Oaks Golf Club in Statesville.

Lincoln Charter, who finished second to Pine Lake Prep at Catawba Shores in Mooresville last Tuesday (8/23), will participate in a match at Huntersville Wednesday (8/31, 3:20 PM start).

North Lincoln, which finished fourth in that five-team event at Lincoln Country Club last Tuesday, will host a multi-team match at Glen Oaks Golf Club in Maiden next Tuesday (9/6). East Lincoln will also participate in that event.
