LINCOLNTON, N.C. – The second game of the football season saw North Lincoln visit West Lincoln Friday, August 26. It was West’s first game at home and the stadium was starting to fill up on both sides of the field. Schools don’t open until Monday, August 29 for the 2016-17 year but the fans were ready to cheer on the Rebels, the Knights, their cheerleaders and marching bands.
The Lincoln Herald had two photographers at the game (Kirk Herbertson and Janet Reep Morgan) with lots of pictures for both teams!
Be sure to read Janet Reep Morgan’s first installment of a multi-part series spotlighting West Lincoln parents who once marched, cheered or played football where they now watch their adolescent children carry on the same tradition in today’s Lincoln Herald (It will be in the Opinion/Columnist Section).
