LINCOLNTON, N.C. - This week it’s going to be short and sweet. We want to offer a little friendly advice. Please remember that when talking about how bad the Wolves are or how bad they lost on social media you are not just talking about a team but a group of children.

Yes, they are children. They are playing because they WANT TO not because they are getting paid. They are someone’s child, friend, nephew, brother, etc. They don’t want to lose but it happens. We lost a lot of talent last year and this year’s talent is still learning the ropes.

Do we get frustrated with the happenings on the field? Absolutely! We want these guys to take home a win as bad as they do. After seeing the look on their faces and hearing their frustrations with themselves Friday we realized that as fans we must help build up their confidence. They are still children whether they want to admit it or not and our words, whether verbal or written, leave an impression on them.

South Point returned the majority of their State Championship team and has always been a tough opponent for the Wolves. The season cannot be judged based off the first two games. We have started off rough on numerous occasions and still gone several rounds into the playoffs.

Don’t count us out yet and most importantly don’t talk down about the young men who leave their hearts on the field and risk injury to provide you a little entertainment on Friday nights. If you can’t support them, stay home. I’m sure they won’t mind and neither will their parents.

Until next week….GO WOLVES!

Semper Fi! We will forever be “ALWAYS FAITHFUL” to our Wolves!

I totally agree with you when it comes to comments about our young people. Please people, know your audience. You never know who you are sitting near and who the child belongs to. There isn't a parent out there that wants to hear bad comments about their child.
This is true for all participants in school activities. Band members, cheerleaders, and coaches should be included as well. It is a SHAME to hear or see a remark made by an adult putting down one of these kids or their coaches! Adults SHOULD BE good leaders and set good examples for our young people. Our young people are always looking up to adults as role models. So adults, please refrain from making degrading comments about our young people and coaches while at the games or from making degrading remarks on social media. Our job as adults is to build these young people up...Not tear them down!
