Small Town Gym Competing In Big Time Competition

LINCOLNTON, N.C. - On Friday, May 11 through Sunday, May 13 three teams from Odyssey Cheer Gym in Lincolnton are competing in the “World Series of Cheerleading” at the D2 Summit cheer competition at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Disney World in Orlando, Florida.   The Summit is held every year at the Complex.  D2 Distinction is for gyms with less than 125 competitive athletes. 

Teams from Odyssey that are competing are:

  • Youth – Journey
  • Junior – JS04
  • Senior – SS04

These teams practice 2-3 days per week at the cheer gym located at 106 Eastview Drive, Lincolnton.  Coaches are: Tracey Pauley (Director), Erika Land (Coach), Amanda Carpenter (Coach), Kendrick Johnson (Coach). Other coaches are Kayla and Brandon Carpenter.

Please keep the team and their families in your prayers as they travel over the next few days. Thirty-seven athletes and 60 parents along with coaches travelled  to Orlando.
