DENVER, N.C.––It’s quite the local hub for recreation and all sorts of activities.

It’s the East Lincoln Community Center. And according to Lincoln County Parks and Recreation spokeswoman Missy Calloway, the center is the place to be for multiple autumnal athletic activities.

“Have you seen all the activities we offer at the East Lincoln Community

Center?” she asked Tuesday. “From quilting to line-dancing, there’s something for everyone.”

Calloway continued that among the fall fun is pickleball for beginners.

“Are you new to pickleball or interested in learning more about it?” she asked. “Come check it out Fridays, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., and learn all the basics and scoring of the game.”

In other news, Calloway talked about next year’s senior games.

“We are beginning to plan the 2019 Lincoln County Senior Games,” she said. “The games will again be offering competition for seniors 50 and up in many sports and art activities, such as golf, bowling, team sports, swimming, bocce, painting, pottery and poetry. We also plan to have several new competitions this year, including Wii (a Japanese video game) bowling and miniature golf.”

The Lincoln County Senior Games will be presented by Lincoln County Parks and

Rec, Lincoln County Senior Services, the City of Lincolnton Parks and

Recreation Department and the Arts Council of Lincoln County and sponsored by many businesses and organizations throughout Lincoln County.
