Much Going On At East Lincoln Community Center
Activities for seniors and more

DENVER, N.C.––Looking for something to do?

Look no further than the East Lincoln Community Center. Located at 8160 Optimist Club Road in Denver, the East Lincoln Community Center has something for everyone, especially local seniors.

According to Lincoln County Parks and Recreation, activities include the following:

Walking
The East Lincoln Community Center is open daily, 8:30-11:30 a.m., for walking. 

Exercise class
Come join the folks at the community center for a fun work-out on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $3 per class.



1 - Rock Fitness - New Design

Adult quilting class 
Every Monday, 10 a.m.-noon, the East Lincoln Community Center offers an adult quilting class for free. 

Senior socials 
Come join your friends at the community center on the first Wednesday of each month at 10:30 a.m. for a free senior social. These events feature covered-dish lunches, guest speakers and field trips. 

Bingo 
On the second Wednesday of every month at 10:30 a.m., the center hosts a morning of bingo. Everyone is welcome, and admission is free. Bring a snack to share and a wrapped gift under $5 for the prize table.

Bunco
On the last Wednesday each month, the center offers bunco (a parlor game that’s generally played with a dozen or more players, divided into groups of four, all trying to score points while taking turns rolling three dice). The games begin at 10:30 a.m. and are free to the public.

Line dance class 
Come out and learn the moves and steps to a variety of dances. Classes are held Wednesdays at 10 a.m. at the center. The fee is $3 per class. This is a non-partner dance class. 

Senior basketball
The East Lincoln Community Center offers basketball for senior citizens on Thursdays at 3 p.m.

Open-gym volleyball
The center offers open-gym volleyball on Fridays, 1-4:45 p.m. The Women’s Volleyball League plays annually, January to March. 

Open Gym Pickleball
And the center offers open-gym pickleball on Monday and Tuesday, 1 p.m. to 4:45 p.m., and on Wednesdays, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
