SOCCER

Senior Noah Graden scored two goals; Chase Gilley & Luke Felts each had one as the East Lincoln Mustangs continued undefeated by downing West Iredell on Thursday (Sep. 5th) 4-1. Goaltender William White had seven saves, allowing just one goal in the victory. The Mustangs next match will be at South Point on Tuesday. They'll also take on Pine Lake Prep at Mooresville next Thursday.

Five players each contributed a goal in North Lincoln's Thursday win over Stuart Cramer 5-2. Nathan Brown, Carter Sliwoski, Joey Quilla, Samari Collins and Brett McMichael each had a goal as the Knights forged a 2-0 halftime advantage and scored three more goals in the second half. North is now 4-1-2 on the season and hosts Foard on Monday and Highland Tech Friday of next week.

As of late Thursday night, we had not received the score of the West Lincoln match but Maiden beat Bessemer City 6-2; no details were available.

West Lincoln will play at East Rutherford next Wednesday.

Maiden will be at North Iredell on Tuesday and host Hibriten Thursday of next week.

Newton-Conover, the defending South Fork 2A champs, suffered their first loss this year at Hickory Thursday. The Red Tornadoes beat the Red Devils 3-0. Newton-Conover, now 5-1 this season, will host Foard next Thursday.

After a win over Kings Mountain on Wednesday, the Lincolnton soccer team will host Forestview on Monday and Wednesday of next week.

VOLLEYBALL

East Lincoln easily beat Lincolnton 3-0 Thursday (25-7, 25-12, 25-11) to remain unbeaten (6-0). East will play at North Lincoln Tuesday and host Bandys on Thursday. Lincolnton, now 1-4 on the year, will host Bandys on Tuesday and be at Cherryville next Wednesday and at West Lincoln next Thursday.

West Lincoln won the first set, then Maiden won three straight sets on Thursday (23-25, 25-8, 25-10, 25-20). West will be at Highland Tech on Monday, at Newton-Conover next Tuesday, and host Lincolnton on Thursday.

Lincoln Charter won in straight sets over Cherryville Thursday (25-12, 25-13, 25-18).
Lincoln Charter will host Piedmont Charter on Thursday of next week and be at Mtn. Island Charter on Friday. Cherryville hosts Piedmont Charter on Tuesday and Lincolnton Wednesday, then play at Thomas Jefferson on Thursday.

We did not receive a score report on the North Lincoln at Lake Norman Charter match. North will be at Statesville on Monday and host East Lncoln Tuesday and Maiden next Thursday.

GIRLS TENNIS

West Lincoln's girls tennis team remained undefeated (5-0) with a 9-0 win over Cherryville Thursday. Brogan Heavner, Isabella Shutt, Etta Godfrey, Chloe Norman, conner Avery & Bailey Huss all won their singles matches in straight sets. Heavner & Shutt, Addison Sain & Katelyn Ballenger, Ale Salas & Chloe Brooks won the doubles matches. West will host Draughn Tuesday, be at East Lincoln next Thursday.

We did not receive a report on the North Lincoln at Hibriten match. North will host Shelby on Tuesday, be at Lake Norman Wednesday, and host Lincolnton Thursday of next week. We understand that Shelby beat Lincolnton 6-3. Lincolnton will host East Gaston Teusday, be at North on Thursday of next week. We also received no report on the Foard at East Lincoln match. East will be at South Point on Monday, host West on Thursday.

In JV Football Thursday:

Ashbrook 34, East Lincoln 18

North Lincoln 46, W. Caldwell 6

Bandys 30, South Caldwell 12

Newton-Conover 36, Hickory 24

No score was reported on the North Gaston at Lincolnton or West Lincoln at Cherryville JV games.
