BOYS: East Lincoln 69, Lincolnton 55 --- The Mustangs were up 42-29 at half, and 50-47 going into the 4th where they outscored the Wolves 15-2 over the last 3 minutes to win the South Fork 2A Conference game played Friday night in Lincolnton by a score of 69-55. East Lincoln had three players in double figures led by sophomore, Evan Montanari, who had a career high 24 points on 5 3-point field goals made and also had 5 assists and 4 steals, while senior, Myles Adams, had 13 points and 6 rebounds, and sophomore, Jeremiah Jones, added 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists.  Senior, Justin Kuthan, was held to 8 points on the night, but had 15 rebounds for the game. The Wolves had three players in double figures, led by senior, Davis Grooms, who had 19 points, while senior, Dejarrius Gash, added 18 points and junior, Amantre Finger, added 11 points. Of Note: The Mustangs have defeated the Wolves four straight times and over the last decade have a 17-12 record against Lincolnton. The Mustangs will be on the road against the North Lincoln Knights on Tuesday night, while the Wolves will host the Bandys Trojans.

GIRLS: East Lincoln 61, Lincolnton 25 --- Taliyah Thomas had 14 points, 4 steals and Katie Cox earned a double-double (13 points, 10 rebounds), 6 steals and 2 assists to lead East Lincoln past Lincolnton. The Lady Wolves were led by Mackenzie Sand-Odum’s 8 points in a losing effort. ELHS (6-4, 2-0): Taliyah Thomas 14, Katie Cox 13, K. Campo 6, S. Rhoney 5, B. Tadlock 4, N. Hall 4, T. Robinette 4, G. BOYS: Cherryville 75, Piedmont Community Charter 52 --- Lane Harrill finished with a double-double (39 points, 13 rebounds) to lead the Ironmen past Piedmont Community Charter Friday, January 3. He scored nine 3-pointers in the win. Dylan Harden also finished in double figures with 12 points. For Piedmont Community Charter, Jeremy Brewer had 18 points and Akiem Hudson added 10. CHS: Lane Harrill 39, Lavonte Hughes 9, Dylan Harden 12, Jeremy Varela 2, Jack Mulvey 2, Gavin Cease 3, Dedrick Taylor 2. PCC: Vincent Davis 8, Allen Hudson 10, Devin Thorp 7, Jeremy Brewer 18, Devin Cutheberson 7, Johnson 2.

GIRLS: Piedmont Community Charter 59, Cherryville 16 --- Taylor Prioleau had 17 points and Jayden East followed with 16 to lead the Patriots to a win over Cherryville. Cherryville will play at Lincoln Charter on Tuesday, January 7.
