The East Lincoln Mustangs ran their South Fork Conference leading volleyball record to 3-0 Monday (Nov. 23rd) with a three-set win over North Lincoln. Jordan Gromlich led her team with 19 kills and a dozen blocks; Katie Cook had 9 serving aces and 41 assists; and Kaylee Spees had 42 digs in the 25-8, 25-22 and 25-21 win. The Mustangs were scheduled to host Maiden next Tuesday (Dec. 1st) but because of the virus, Maiden has had to postpone its next three matches. East Lincoln will be at West Lincoln next Thursday evening.
Maiden's scheduled Monday match at Lake Norman Charter was also postponed as was their Tuesday match hosting North Lincoln. The Blue Devils' match hosting Newton-Conover that had been scheduled for next Thursday will now be played on Friday (Dec. 4th).
Lincolnton lost three straight sets to Bandys on Monday ( 25-6, 25-8 and 25-10).
No score was reported on the West Lincoln vs Newton-Conover match. Lincolnton's schedule on MaxPreps has never been updated, still showing only seven matches for the season.
It was no contest as East Lincoln improved to 2-0 with a three-set win over Lincolnton Thursday (25-5, 25-3, 25-9). Senior Jordan Gromlich led her team with seven kills; Kayla Cook had four aces and 30 assists; Kayla Coppin had five blocks; and Kaylese Spees had 23 digs. On Monday (11/23) East Lincoln will host North Lincoln.
After beating West Lincoln Tuesday, North Lincoln fell to Lake Norman Charter 3-2.
Maiden took a threesome from West Lincoln (25-11, 25-11, 25-12) to improve to 2-0 for the season. West will host Newton-Conover on Monday. Maiden was scheduled to play at Lake Norman Charter but that match was postponed.
The South Fork Conference schedule got underway Tuesday. North Lincoln won three straight sets from West Lincoln. Lincolnton lost three straight to Newton-Conover (25-17, 25-7 & 25-19) to drop to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the conference. East Lincoln downed Lake Norman Charter in four sets, losing the first 25-23, then winning three straight (25-16, 25-18 & 25-12). Maiden took three straight from Bandys (25-21, 25-22 & 25-20).
Restrictions in place because of the COVID-19 pandemic mean that fans can't attend the matches, but they are being live-streamed and you can purchase access for $10 at https://www.sfcnetwork.tv/. The price is per device, which means that several people can watch.
