Two New Coaches at Lincoln Charter School

Wayne Howard
Reporter

Daniel Schmitz, Athletic Director for Lincoln Charter School, says he is excited to announce the appointment of two new coaches.

James "JB" Burnett will be the new head varsity boys basketball coach. Burnett is a graduate of LeMoyen College in Syracuse, NY, where he played baseball. Schmidt said "Coach 'JB' has been an intricate part of the Lincoln Charter basketball program for the past two years and will look to continue developing the LCS program into the future. He has a great knowledge of the game and will incorporate skill development throughout the program. His character and humility make him very approachable and his goal to impact the K-12 program at LCS will build on what Coach Gabriel and Coach Seitz have worked so hard to build.

"He has big shoes to fill, and I know that he is up for the challenge. JB has a great relationship with the kids as well as the staff and community at Lincoln Charter. This will be a great transition for our kids and coaches."

The other new coach at Lincoln Charter is Paris Wicklin, who will be the head volleyball coach. Wicklin is a School Counselor at Lincoln Charter School's Denver campus. She was a standout three-sport athlete at Newton-Conover High School, where she excelled in volleyball. Coach Wicklin attended UNC-Greensboro where she played club volleyball. She was an assistant volleyball coach at Newton-Conover.

"We are very excited to have Paris take over the volleyball program at Lincoln Charter," Schmidt told us. "We are excited to see her work with our strong young team. We have some great players returning and we look forward to seeing Coach Wicklin take the team to the next level."
