Maiden 32, Salisbury 20
Salisbury took the opening kickoff and went three and out. Maiden started on its own 30-yd line. Their first two plays gave them a first down. Ben Gibbs' 7-yd run got the Blue Devils into Salisbury territory at the 47. Salisbury sacked Ethan Rhodes and on 3rd down, Rhodes hit Chris Culliver for a 52-yard TD pass and Carson Foard's extra point kick gave Maiden a 7-0 lead.

Salisbury got a first down on their 2nd possession but then had to punt. Maiden's Chris Culliver called for a fair catch at the Maiden 15-yd line so that's where the Blue Devils began their second possession.

Jacob Sigmon caught a Rhodes pass on third down for a 40-yd gain to the Hornets' 30-yd line. A bad handoff to Gibbs gave Maiden a 4th down as the first quarter ended with the Devils ahead 7-0.

On 3rd and goal, a penalty move the ball to the one-yd line and Salisbury scored and the EP kick made it Maiden 13, Salisbury 7.
Neither team scored again before halftime.

Maiden had a bad handoff on the kickoff to start the 2nd half so they started at their own 10.  A 20-yd pass to Sigmon and a couple of runs, one of them for another 20 yards, got the Blue Devils to the Hornets 44.  Then Rhodes hit Culliver for another TD pass.  The kick was blocked (again) and it was 19-7.  Several passes to Culliver and Sigmon got Maiden to the Hornets 10-yd line.  On first and goal, Rhodes hit Alec Hall for another touchdown.  This time they went for two but the EP pass for Culliver fell incomplete; the score was Maiden 25, Salisbury 7.

Ben Gibbs had a 43-yd run followed by a personal foul penalty on the Hornets.  Gibbs ran to the 16; the penalty made it first and goal at the 8.  Three incomplete passes made it 4th down.  A 5-yd penalty pushed them back to the 13, 4th & goal, but Rhodes hit Culliver again on the last play of the third qtr.  This time Foard's kick was NOT blocked and the Blue Devils led 32-7.  Salisbury scored with 8-and-a-half minutes left in the game; the EP kick was good and it was Maiden 32, Salisbury 14. The Hornets scored again with 4:17 left in the game but their two-point EP try was no good and Maiden led 32-20 with just over four minutes left to play.
