The Western Foothills Conference has announced its All-Conference choices for soccer for the season that ended with state championship games over the weekend. Hickory, the WFAC champ, made it to the state title game but lost 1-0 to Western Alamance in a defensive battle. The Warriors managed a goal on a penalty kick in the 76th minute that gave them the championship. Hickory had 12 shots on goal, but only one of them came close to scoring, prompting the only save by the West Alamance goalkeeper. Hickory ended the season a 22-4-1. Fred T. Foard and North Iredell finished tied for second in the conference. East Lincoln finished 4th but made it to the 4th round of the state playoffs.
