LINCOLNTON––Christian Ministry of Lincoln County is preparing now for its annual benefit golf tournament.

That’s the word Thursday from Mitzi Williams, its executive director. A letter about the tournament will be mailed out to ministry supporters on June 13, as Williams explained.

“It’s time for our 27th annual golf tournament fundraiser!” she added. “Anyone can help by: donating gift certificates or merchandise to be used as prizes; sponsoring a hole at a cost of $100, and a sign will then be put on the course with your name on it; or by sponsoring a team from your church or business at a cost of $240.”

The golf tournament––a captain’s choice event, to be held at the Lincoln Country Club––gets under way with a shotgun blast at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13. The cost is $60 a person or $240 a team to play. The cost includes green and cart fees, dinner at the club, drinks, snacks and two Mulligans (basically do-overs). Skirts and more Mulligans may be purchased for $5 each.

Team cash prizes are available at the first, second and third-place levels, as Williams informed. The first-place winner will play for free at next year’s event. Other rewards include those for golfers getting closest to the pins on every par three, the longest drive and door prizes.
