The ECA has begun their annual fried apple pie sales. The winner of the Apple Festival t-shirt design contest has been announced. This Saturday, the Business & Professional Women's Club will present the 44th Miss Lincoln County Apple Queen Pageant. The Apple Festival doesn't happen until October 15th, but the related activities are underway.
The 44th Miss Lincoln County Apple Queen Pageant happens this Saturday (Aug. 6th) at the James Warren Citizens Center on W. Main St. in Lincolnton. Doors will open at 5:30 and the pageant gets underway at 6 o'clock. Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for students; children under three will be admitted free with a paying adult.
Don't be confused. While we've numbered the contestants 1-19, there are actually 18 of them. One had to drop out.
They'll compete in evening gown and swimsuit competition but the biggest part of their score by the judges will be the interview portion.
Ashley Fisher, the reigning Apple Queen from 2021 will crown her successor. The girls will bbe competing for over $8,000 in scholarships.
