ALEXIS, N.C. – Meet the Tri-County Animal Rescue Pet of the Week: Mac is a Terrier/Beagle mix.  Mac is missing half of one ear and several digits from one of his front feet.  Mac was in dog fight and almost lost his leg.  He pulled through and was able to keep the leg and most of the foot.  Mac is a good little man that deserves a forever home of luxury.  He weighs about 30 pounds and is 5-years-old.  Mac will not get any bigger. He is a sweet dog and will make a great pet for a family with kids.  He would love to be your 4-legged buddy. Mac is neutered, current on vaccines and micro-chipped.  Please give Mac a chance to become part of your family!  He is looking for love.

Beagles are extremely popular dogs because of their gentle, even-tempered nature. With minimal socialization, your beagle will bond strongly with people, be gentle with children and get along with other dogs. Beagles are loyal to their families and often highly affectionate.  Beagles are highly energetic dogs, which means your pup will always be thrilled to play fetch or chase with your family. The downside of this is that beagles can become destructive if they don't get enough exercise. At minimum, they need an hour of exercise daily in the form of brisk walking or running and intellectually stimulating games. Some beagles, particularly puppies and young adults, may need much more exercise than this.

BIG DOG Pet of the Week

Tri-County Animal Rescue Pet of the Week is this beautiful Bichon Frise named Kramer.  He is about 6 years old and weighs 20 pounds. Kramer plays well with other dogs and loves people.  He has hair that will require regular grooming.  Bichon hair is hypoallergenic similar to poodles. Kramer was the victim of eviction.  His owner no longer had a home so Kramer needed rescue.  Kramer was in dire need of grooming when we got him.  The only way to clean him was a complete shave down.  Kramer is looking pretty good now and is searching for that forever home with a loving owner.  Kramer is neutered, current on vaccines and micro-chipped.  He will be looking for you this weekend!

Bichon Frise vary in appearance, but all have tails curled over their back.  Their hair doesn't readily shed.  They have a short snout, drop ears, and large, dark eyes. They were all bred to be amiable companion dogs and have a friendly, alert temperament. Their life expectancy is 15 years.
