Maiden held its Christmas Parade Saturday afternoon. Lincolnton's 60th annual Christmas Parade is set for 4 PM Sunday. The tree lighting on the east side of the Courtsquare will happen at about 6 PM following the parade.
Two other tree lightings are scheduled for Sunday. The East Lincoln Betterment Association's Denver tree lighting in front of Lake Norman Lutheran Church and the Stanley tree lighting on Main Street in Stanley are both scheduled for 5:30.
Several area Christmas parades are scheduled for the week ahead.
Mt. Holly--Wednesday November 28th, 4 PM
Denver--Saturday December 1st, 12:15 PM
Crouse--Saturday December 1st, 1 PM; tree lighting follows parade
Ranlo--Saturday December 1st, 1 PM
Kings Mountain--Saturday December 1st, 3 PM
Anyone who would like to be in the Denver Christmas Parade has until 5 PM Wednesday to register.
In Cat Square, where the parade will be at 1 PM Saturday December 8th, they took nominations for mayor on Saturday. This coming Saturday, the three top nominees will be listed on a ballot and you can vote for your favorite at Cat Square Superette. Saturday is also the day for nominations for Miss Cat Square and Little Miss Cat Square.
While Stanley's tree lighting is this Sunday afternoon, the Christmas Parade there doesn't happen until 3 PM Wednesday December 12th.
