Sometimes the weather gets in the way of seasonal good deeds. The Hickory Police Department has rescheduled its Cops for Tots Wish House (originally scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) to this Thursday and Friday (Dec. 13th and 14th) and next Monday (Dec. 17th).
On those days, the Wish House at 131 Main Ave. NE will be open from 9 AM until noon and from 3 PM until 6 PM. Anyone who meets the requirements will be allowed to particpate regardless of the location of their residence. On Thursday, residents of Hickory will be served; on Friday, residents of Catawba County outside Hickory; and on Monday, all others.
To receive items from the Wish House:
A parent or guardian of the child must present a photo ID of themselves
You will be required to show proof of address such as a utility, cable, or phone bill.
Birth certificate or Medicaid card for each child.
Children from birth to 16 years of age are eligible to receive items from this program.
Families who are serviced by the Christmas Bureau in 2018 or have been serviced by the Wish House for the past three consecutive years will not be eligible.
