Republic Services will not operate on Christmas Day, of course, so the curbside service schedule will run one day behind regular schedule December 26th through December 28th. Republic Services will then resume their regular curbside service schedule on Monday, December 31st.
Some municipalities in Catawba County are handling tree pickup separately within their boundaries, so residents of municipalities should check with the government office in their city or town to be sure of the schedule and procedure they should follow. County Solidwaste Convenience Centers will accept Christmas trees and other natural decorations between December 26th and January 18th only.
Blackburn Convenience Center at 3864 Rocky Ford Road in Newton, across from the Blackburn Landfill operates 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Bethany Church Road Convenience Center at 2436 Bethany Church Road in Newton operates are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM Tuesday through Saturday.
Cooksville Convenience Center at 3659 Rhoney Farm Road in Vale operates 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Friday and Saturday.
Oxford Convenience Center at 4637 Lookout Dam Road in Catawba operates are 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Wednesday through Sunday.
Sherrills Ford Convenience Center at 8876 Sherrills Ford Road in Sherrills Ford operates are 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Thursday through Sunday.
The Blackburn Convenience Center will close at 3:00 on Monday afternoon, December 24th. All Centers will be closed on Christmas Day Tuesday, December 25th and New Year's Day Tuesday, January 1st. All Centers will resume their regular schedules on Wednesday, December 26th.
Christmas trees are always accepted at the Blackburn Construction and Demolition Landfill, which will be closed Monday, December 24th through Wednesday, December 26th and will resume the regular schedule on Thursday, December 27th. Go to www.catawbacountync.gov for more information.
