ALEXIS, N.C. – Tri-County Animal Rescue has this 3-year-old Chihuahua named ChiChi as our Pet of the Week. This little man weighs about 6 ½ pounds and will not get any bigger. ChiChi gets along with other pets but loves to be the center of attention. He loves to be held for hours on end. ChiChi can seem aggressive at first but he comes around pretty quickly. He would make a great companion for an older couple. Once he accepts HIS people then he gives kisses non-stop. ChiChi is neutered, current on vaccines and micro-chipped. Please come meet little ChiChi this Saturday.
Chihuahuas are comical, entertaining, and loyal little dogs. They are absolutely brimming with personality – often a quirky and eccentric personality unmatched by any other breed. Chihuahuas do seem to recognize and prefer their own breed, so it's a great idea to keep two of them. They keep each other company when you're gone, they play together, clean each other's ears, and keep each other warm by snuggling together.
Chihuahuas adore warmth! They will seek out the tiniest sunspot in which to bask, and they tunnel under blankets and towels. You have to be careful whenever you sit down on your sofa or bed, as there could be a Chihuahua tucked under there!
If you want a dog that: is small and easy to carry, comes in several different coats and colors, is oh-so-funny and entertaining in quirky ways, is very loyal, travels well, doesn't need much exercise, LOVES warm sunny climates, usually has a long lifespan….. then a Chihuahua may be right for you!
The Tri-County Animal Rescue BIG DOG Pet of the Week is this beautiful German Shepherd Dog (GSD) named Reese. She has Special Needs. Reese has Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI) which is a condition that occurs when the pancreas fails to provide the necessary amount of digestive enzymes. Due to a lack of these enzymes, pets with EPI cannot properly digest the nutrients in food such as fats, proteins, and carbohydrates. We control the EPI by adding enzyme powder to her grain free food. Reese has adjusted well to this routine and looks great! Reese is 2-years-old and loves to be inside. Reese is house-trained, crate trained and a great companion for her person…however, she wants to be the only dog. She is spayed, current on vaccines and micro-chipped. Please give this big girl a chance to become part of your family! She will be looking for you this weekend.
If you are looking for an addition to your family, please come out and meet our adoptable pets this weekend. Many pets will be at the Gastonia PetSmart located at 3698 East Franklin Boulevard this Saturday noon to 6 p.m.
