“‘Living Healthy with Diabetes’ is a free self-management workshop that can help you take control of your diabetes, rather than letting it control you!” said Stroupe. “If you want to learn techniques to actively manage your diabetes or care for someone with diabetes, this is for you.”
She added that attendees can learn how to manage symptoms; how to work more effectively with health care providers; how to fight fatigue and pain; developing weekly action plans; eating more healthily in order to keep blood sugar in check; and how to make daily tasks easier and get more out of life.
In other news, “Snow Fun Bingo” will be held Jan. 25, 9:30-11:30 a.m. “Wear Red Bingo” will be held at the same time, Feb. 22.
And the senior center’s bluegrass jam sessions are held on Tuesdays, 10-11 a.m. The multi-purpose room is the place to be.
The Lincoln County Senior Center is co-located with the Lincoln County Campus of Gaston College at 514 S. Academy St. in the former Lincolnton Senior and Junior high school site.
