LINCOLNTON, N.C.––Are you a caregiver?
Do you want to learn how to better take care of your elderly or ill loved ones? If so, you’ll want to attend the “Building Better Caregivers” workshop series at the Lincoln County Senior Center, March 26, April 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30. The workshops will be held 2-4:30 p.m., all six days. Light snacks will be provided, according to senior center spokeswoman Darlene Stroupe.
“It’s not easy to care for a loved one,” Stroupe said this week. “We can help. When you take care of yourself, everyone benefits!”
She continued that the “Building Better Caregivers” series will help you to:
reduce stress for yourself––the caregiver––and for the one you’re taking care of;
improve their health by implementing self-care methods;
manage difficult behavior in the ones you’re caring for;
plan for the future;
find information and resources;
and increase your communication skills.
The Lincoln County Senior Center is co-located with the Lincoln County Campus of Gaston College at 514 S. Academy St. in Lincolnton (site of the former Lincolnton Senior and Junior high schools).
To learn more about the workshop, Stroupe encourages you to call the senior center at (704) 732-9053.
