By now, most know that this year's Lincoln County Apple Festival will be held in October instead of September. The festival, which began in 1972, has always been held the third Saturday in September, but weather forced a postponement in 2018 and the festival was held in October. Many thought it was a good idea to change it permanently, so the Apple Festival Board decided to hold the 2019 festival the third Saturday in October instead of September.
Work on the 2019 Apple Festival is already well underway according to Apple Festival Coordinator Carole Howell. Howell reported that three new members: Cindy Friedeberg, Pat Ilardi, and Nikki Gray, were approved at the March 19th Board of Directors meeting.
She added, "the 2019 Festival has gotten off to a good start with Piedmont Natural Gas returning as a presenting sponsor. This year more than 250 craft vendors, businesses and downtown merchants, non-profits, apple growers, and local entertainment will await Festival-goers on its new date, October 19th. Vendors, entertainers and sponsors who would like to participate and greet the thousands of expected visitors should visit LincolnCountyAppleFestival.com to learn more."
