CROUSE, N.C. - Pansy Tallent Ritchie celebrated her 101st birthday on Sunday, March 17 with family and friends at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Vale, N.C.
Pansy’s family includes her daughter Pat Hayes, grandchildren Michelle McSwain, Stephanie Richards (Ken) and Brian Hayes (Beth) and great-grandchildren Alexis McSwain and Sean Hayes.
Pansy was born April 6, 1918 in Lincoln County to the late Doc Miller Tallent and Cleo Pendleton Tallent. Pansy had five brothers and two sisters with Edith Tallent Stevens (93) of Greensboro, N.C. being the only living sibling.
Pansy is a member of Crouse United Methodist Church which she still faithfully attends. She was a former first grade teacher at Cherryville Elementary for 25 years. She loved to travel visiting China, the Holy Land, Australia, the United Kingdom and many other interesting places.
