The NC Department of Transportation will temporarily close two ramps on Wednesday, May 15th to inspect two flyover bridges that take US 74 over I-85, just west of Gastonia.

The closures be from 9 AM to 3 PM and affect these two areas:

  • The exit ramp from I-85 North to US 74 West
  • The entrance ramp from US 74 West to I-85 South.

A detour will take drivers on I-85 North to exit 13 (Edgewood Road). Drivers will turn left and continue back to I-85 South, then take exit 10B to access US 74 West.

Drivers on US 74 West will detour to NC 161, making a left turn to continue to US 74 East, then return to I-85 South.
