Since our churches’ 2019 Summer Lunch & Enrichment Program began on Monday, June 17, we have already fed 98 children a bag lunch in five days and provided a healthy snack and water to over 30 adults accompanying the children. With five weeks remaining until our summer lunch program ends on Friday, July 26, we are anticipating exceeding the number of children served in 2018.
Each child in attendance will be given a book to take home daily. Over the past four years an assortment of items have been given away and this year each day will have a particular item. Special give-a-ways have been planned for June 27 (National Sunglasses Day); July 3 (Pre-Independence Day Celebration) and July 17 (National Emoji Day).
