7/1/2019 2:25:00 PM Taylor Dill Joins Extension Service
Tom Dyson, LC Extension Director NC Cooperative Extension
Lincoln County Cooperative Extension has a new Field Crops agent. Taylor Dill comes from a family history of farming in Darke County, Ohio, a county about 75% the size of Lincoln (population) located on the western border of the state about a hundred miles west of Columbus.
She recently completed her Master’s degree in agronomy, specifically focusing on Corn Physiology. Taylor has a great interest in on-farm research, and has been meeting with producers and agronomic professionals in the area to explore the local needs, and interests. She has worked in corn, soybean and wheat production on her family farm, and has been involved in research on these crops while studying at Ohio State University.
Taylor has always been active in her community, through music, service, and sports. She is looking forward to getting to know Lincoln County, and to becoming involved here as well. Farmers and others are invited to get to know her by stopping by the Lincoln County Cooperative Extension Office on the first floor of the Citizens Center at 115 W. Main St. in Lincolnton, or by calling 704-736-8461. If you are farming—whether as a full-time farmer or part-time, she would love to come see your operation and learn how she can best serve you.
The Lincoln Herald has been providing news digitally online since 2012. Even so, from time to time people ask us where they can find a copy of our 'paper.' We don't print one. Every day our website gets some 15,000 'hits' (visits from distinct URLs). We also post links to all our articles on Facebook & Twitter. Over 11,000 people have now 'liked' our Facebook page. Over 5,000 have signed up for our FREE daily email service and get an email every day with links to the articles we've posted since the previous day's email. Many more follow us on Twitter. More readers actually read our articles on their smartphones than on desktop computers. It's the 21st Century--and we're a 21st Century media outlet.
