ALEXIS, N.C. – Tri-County Animal Rescue has two Beagle mix puppies as our Pet of the Week.  Bronwen and River are 10-week-old females.  They have lots of puppy energy.  They love all people and other pets.  They have short hair so grooming is a bath and towel dry.  The girls are spayed, current on vaccines and micro-chipped.   Please come meet these pups this Saturday at PetSmart.

Beagles are clowns at heart, but they carry themselves with dignity. They are playful dogs, ready and able for games, but they are also lovers, and must be close to their humans. Beagles love to be the center of attention, and are heartsick if ignored.  Personality-wise, Beagles are happy and affectionate, loyal and charming, playful and mischievous. They are very intelligent however, they can be willful, which makes training challenging.

Tri-County Animal Rescue Senior Pet of the Week is this 10-year-old Cocker Spaniel named Oreo.  He weighs about 35-40 pounds. Oreo is a great dog with a wonderful personality.  He plays well with everyone including other pets.  Oreo will require grooming to keep his hair/coat looking its best.  Oreo has a beautiful party colored coat of hair.   He is a laidback kind of guy that likes his AC but he will go for evening walks with you.  Oreo is neutered, current on vaccines and micro-chipped.  Please come out this weekend and check him out!

The Cocker Spaniel temperament is gentle, loving, and loyal. They're very friendly dogs and have many positive traits. Once you've owned a Cocker Spaniel, I'm certain you won't want any other kind of dog!  Their lively, friendly, enthusiastic nature has given them the nickname 'the merry cocker' and it's very easy to see why.

Tri-County Animal Rescue Pet of the Week is a beautiful Chihuahua/Terrier mix named Margo.  Are you ready for some puppy breath?  Then come on out this weekend and get a big dose of puppy love!  Margo is a 12-week-old female.  The grooming for Margo is very simple…bath and brushing.  She will be small as an  adult.  Margo is spayed, current on vaccines and micro-chipped.  Come on out…we will be looking for you.

Chihuahuas are comical, entertaining, and loyal little dogs. They are absolutely brimming with personality – often a quirky and eccentric personality unmatched by any other breed.  Chihuahuas do seem to recognize and prefer their own breed, so it's a great idea to keep two of them. They keep each other company when you're gone, they play together, clean each other's ears (Chihuahuas can be obsessive ear-lickers!), and keep each other warm by snuggling together.

Chihuahuas adore warmth! They will seek out the tiniest sunspot in which to bask, and they tunnel under blankets and towels. You have to be careful whenever you sit down on your sofa or bed, as there could be a Chihuahua tucked under there!

If you want a dog that: is small and easy to carry, comes in several different coats and colors, is oh-so-funny and entertaining in quirky ways, is very loyal, travels well, doesn't need much exercise, LOVES warm sunny climates, usually has a long lifespan…..then a Chihuahua may be right for you!

If you are looking for an addition to your family, please come out and meet our pets this weekend.  We have many available pets at the Gastonia PetSmart located at 3698 East Franklin Boulevard this Saturday noon to 6 p.m.
