DENVER, N.C. – Join us at The Arbor in the center of the Rock Springs Camp Ground on Monday, August 5 at 5 p.m. for the next meeting of the Eastern Lincoln Historical Society.

The mariners Quartet from Unity Presbyterian Church will perform and Tanner Howard will present The History of Denver: Part II.

He will discuss:

  • How the Great Depression made the Denver bank close.
  • How the Proctor family relinquished their prominent spot in Denver mercantile
  • How Rock Springs School was created from a number of small rural schools.
  • About the doctors, blacksmiths, druggists, merchants, and ministers of a Denver that is no more.
  • About the impact that the building of Lake Norman had on the small town
