Weekend Bridge Work Requires Detour In Shelby

NC Department of Transportation
Press Release

As work continues on the Shelby bypass in Cleveland County, a temporary closure will be needed this weekend on NC180 (North Post Road) between Airport Road and NC150 (Cherryville Road) so crews can safely continue bridge work.

The closure will take place from 5 AM Saturday  (April 4th) until 9 PM Sunday (April 5th). The road could open earlier, depending on work progress.

Drivers will follow a posted detour using NC150 (Cherryville Road), US74-Business/NC150 (East Marion Street, North Dekalb Street) and NC18 along East Grover Street and Fallston Road to access either side of NC 180.

Motorists are encouraged to pay attention when approaching the work zone, obey the posted speed limit, and allow extra time to reach their destination safely.

Back in 2012, the late Larry Dellinger, having spent over half a century in the newspaper business, saw that the times had changed.  People were getting their news from the internet--more and more every day.  That's when he decided to start the Lincoln Herald.

By not having the expense of newsprint (the paper on which newspapers print their news), the news could be offered FREE to readers. We even post links to all of our articles on Facebook and Twitter; and when you sign up for our FREE email service, we'll send you an email every day with links to our articles posted since the previous day's email.  That way, you won't miss the latest news for Lincoln, Gaston, Catawba and Cleveland counties.
