BI-LO Stores Will Close For Easter

Wayne Howard
Staff Writer

Southeastern Grocers, parent company of local BI-LO grocery stores announced Friday that the stores will be closed for business on Easter Sunday, April 12th, to provide associates a day of rest with family.  The announcement also included increased safety standards the stores have implemented:
  • Beginning this week, all BI-LO grocery stores will conduct temperature checks for associates when they report to work to ensure a safer atmosphere for associates and customers.
  • Additionally, associates are allowed to wear masks and gloves in all stores, and the company will provide protective items where supplies are available.
  • Frontline associates will receive weekly bonuses and the company is hiring more than 5,000 temporary workers who have experienced restricted working hours or lost jobs due to COVID-19.
  • BI-LO will limit the number of customers allowed in the store at peak hours as well as install Pexiglas partitions.
  • All stores will continue to provide touch-free payment options.
  • BI-LO continue to offer modified store and pharmacy hours as well as designated shopping hours for high-risk customers, and extended shopping hours for first responders and healthcare providers.  BI‑LO stores and pharmacies will reserve shopping between 8 - 9 AM Monday – Friday for seniors and those most at risk of contracting COVID-19. BI-LO will also have a special shopping hour from 8 – 9 PM Monday & Tuesday dedicated to healthcare providers and first responders.
