Partnership For Children
Of Lincoln & Gaston Counties

LINCOLNTON, N.C. - The Partnership for Children of Lincoln/ Gaston Counties presented signs of recognition to 57 child care facilities in Lincoln and Gaston Counties who have remained opened during the COVID-19 pandemic, providing high quality early care and education to children of essential workers.

Many child care teachers acknowledge they are putting themselves at risk, but feel compelled to do something. Caring for children is what we do best.

“Putting the minds of parents at ease has allowed them to concentrate more on their work,” stated Sheila Berryhill, Director of Long Shoals Wesleyan Child Care.

Children are accustomed to routines, daily schedules and playing with friends. Child care offers predictability, comfort and protection while keeping children’s lives as routine as possible. Each and every facility receiving a sign of recognition is truly a “Hero and Champion of Children.”
