Thanks in large part to the pandemic, this week's observance of National Library Week has been somewhat subdued. Without much fanfare, the Lincoln County Public Library did expand our hours effective this week. They also announced that appointments are no longer required to visit the library. The Charles R. Jonas Library is now open 9 AM - 9 PM on Monday, Tuesdays and Thursdays; 10 - 6 on Wednesdays; and 9 - 6 on Fridays. The Florence S. Shanklin Library is open Mondays and Thursdays 9 - 8, Wednesdays 10 - 6, and Fridays 9 - 6. The West Lincoln Library closed for repairs on March 22nd and remains closed for now.
Curbside service is available Monday through Friday from 2 until 3:30 only. Computer station use will be limited to enable social distancing. Patrons are encouraged to wear masks when social distancing is not possible. For more information about the library’s hours and services call 704-735-8044.
The Gaston County Public Library expanded public access in late February. All Gaston County Library locations except Ferguson Branch Library at the Erwin Center and TECH@Lowell are now open Monday-Thursday 10-6 and Friday and Saturday 10-2.
Catawba County branch libraries including the Maiden Branch Library are open weekdays 9-6.
