Cherryville Y Has New Home

Wayne Howard

The Cherryville YMCA has moved. After more than 20 years on Main Street, the Cherryville Y has now moved to 215 Mountain St. The building was originally a Chrysler-Plymouth car dealership. It has been used for multiple businesses since.

The Cherryville Y is part of the Gaston County YMCA family. That means a membership is good for using all four of the Gaston County Y locations:

Cherryville YMCA – Cherryville, NC
Pharr Family YMCA – McAdenville, NC
Stowe Family YMCA – Mt. Holly/Belmont, NC
Warlick Family YMCA – Gastonia, NC

Memberships start at $30/month for students.
Check out the Membership Rate Sheet

Members have already been able to see and use the new facility, but the ribbon cutting and Grand Opening is scheduled for 4 PM Thursday (March 24th). The Cherryville Y is open (for members) today (Wednesday) until 7 PM.

In celebration of the new location, they’re waiving the $50 joining fee when you join in March. Plus, you pay nothing until April 1st! You can join online at
