5th Annual Cruisin' For A Cause
August 22, 2015

Lincoln Herald Staff

LINCOLNTON, N.C. – The antique and classic cars were parked up and down Main Street as far as you could see in Lincolnton on Saturday, August 22 for the 5th Annual Cruisin’ for a Cause to benefit Hesed House of Hope, Lincoln County Coalition Against Child Abuse & Child Advocacy Center, Lincoln County Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Relay For Life. Proceeds from the event are distributed evenly among these four agencies.

Kids who used to come from miles around to drive their cars around the courtsquare or park on Main Street before cruisin’ was banned in Lincolnton returned Saturday night as adults to relive those glory days.

Classic and antique car owners paid $15 to both park and cruise their vehicles. Car owners who didn’t want to display their vehicle purchased magnets for $5 that allowed them to cruise up and down Main Street and around the Lincoln County Court House from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m.

Thanks to Richie Calloway for taking pictures of this annual event and sharing them with the Lincoln Herald.
