LINCOLNTON, N.C.––It’s going to be a big day.

And it’s coming up July 13, 8 a.m.-noon, at Battleground Elementary School at 301 Jeb Seagle Drive in Lincolnton. According to school counselor Kennan Eaddy and parent-teacher organization president Jennifer Raimey, there is much volunteer work to be done. These tasks include:

  • painting blacktop games and repainting playground equipment;
  • refreshing landscaping and garden areas;
  • and improving outdoor play spaces and fields.
  • Eaddy offered some tips for what to do to get ready.

“Dress in comfortable clothing suitable for landscaping, light construction or painting,” she said. “A light breakfast and child care will be provided. Parking is available for volunteers.”

Raimey spoke further about the event and the school.

“Battleground serves so many families of different backgrounds,” she said, “and we are all really excited about having the community come out and be a part of this awesome day.”

Principal Tracy Eley extended her thanks in advance to all the volunteers.

“Thank you for supporting Battleground!” said Eley.

Want to help? Eaddy continued that you may complete registration via the school’s Facebook page. Or you may contact her by e-mail at mary.eaddy@lincoln.k12.nc.us. And you may reach Battleground Elementary by telephone at (704) 736-1626.
