Rebel Regiment Wins Burns Cup

LINCOLNTON, N.C. – The West Lincoln Rebel Regiment was in competition on Saturday, October 19 at the Burns Cup Marching Band Festival at Burns High School in Lawndale, N.C.

Under the direction of Jacob Brittain, who is in his first year as Band Director at West Lincoln, the Rebel Regiment is performing in competition “Día de los Muertos” (Day of the Dead).  Día de los Muertos is a Mexican celebration and remembrance of family members who have passed.

Awards presented to West Lincoln Saturday were:

  • 2nd place Drum Major
  • 1st Place Color Guard
  • 1st Place Percussion
  • 1st Place Visual Performance
  • 1st Place Music
  • 1st Place Class 2-A
  • Grand Champion Class 1A/2A
  • Overall Winner – The Burns Cup
