If you're looking for something to do this weekend, you can get off to an early start with Tunes at Noon, a free musical performance on the north side of the Courtsquare. Three female musicians make up Blue Tulip, an eclectic Jazz-Blues band from Charlotte. Bring a towel, blanket, or chair; a snack or lunch and enjoy the music! The Arts Council of Lincoln County is sponsoring the event.
The musicians are Austin Sapp on vocals and keyboard, Lori Spencer on guitar, bass and vocals, and Deborah Scott on congas and world percussion.
Lori Spencer is a nationally known and nationally award winning guitarist. She has toured all over North America as a solo instrumental guitarist or with some of the best jazz bands in the country and has been playing over 40 years.
As a vocalist Austin Sapp has been fronting Blues, Rock, and Jazz large show bands all over the United States for decades.
Deborah Scott has performed all over the East Coast and Canada with her unique blend of Island, Jazz and African beats with some of the largest and best known caribbean and jazz style bands in the last 30 years. She is a nationally award winning percussionist.
If you're looking for a cool break in the middle of the day, come sit under the shade of the trees and enjoy the music. It's FREE!
